Requirements
The Microsoft .NET Framework, version 2.0 or higher must be installed. Any computer that will run .NET 2.0 should work with GCGB.
GCGB can be installed on the computer normally, or can be installed to students' personal USB drives so that they can access it on any computer.
How is this version different from the normal one?
This installer includes some third party programming utilities, which are not open source and therefore cannot be widely distributed using SourceForge.net.
This version also includes some extra libraries for hardware used in the mentoring program:
- The Envirocar library, which is required for the standard Envirocar programming course.
- The Game Board library (for the Penguin Pong board)
- The Blue Board library.
Changes since last version
A number of changes have been incorporated since the previous release. If the previous release is working fine for you, and you don't need any of changes, feel free to keep using it!
The main changes since August 2010 are:
- Experimental robot simulator added
- Some bugs fixed (none involve the standard Envirocar course)
- Arduino support added
- Included example files improved and are now listed on the File menu
- Minor improvements to GCGB including extra shortcut keys and popup help messages
